Police are investigating the shooting of a minor.
Two teens were shot, one fatally, and the police are investigating the incident on Tuesday. The officers from the Long Beach Police Department were called to the 2200 block of Lewis Avenue about a hit-and-run shooting that had left a 12-year-old boy dead and a 14-year-old female wounded. The youngster, aged 12, died from his wounds while receiving medical treatment. The girl, aged 14, was treated for an injury that was not considered life-threatening. Detectives specializing in homicide cases arrived and promptly began an investigation. The victims were reportedly on the sidewalk when the suspicious car, which included at least two men, approached them and fired shots at them.
